This year we gave away 3 classic Mustangs at the Festival - so how can we top giving away 3 cars? It was gonna be tough - but we have had this ace up our sleeve for some time and being our 10th Anniversary we decided to do something VERY special. We get 3 kinds of vehicles at the Beach Hop - Hot Rods, Classic Cars/Street Machines/Kustoms and motorbikes. So our plan is to have one of each up for grabs! Yes - 1x Hot Rod, 1x Classic and 1x Motorbike.

First up we have purchased this 1930 Model A Roadster from Dave & Susan Lysaght  from Coromandel. They have attended every Beach Hop in it - so really wanted us to have it. The car was originally built in Tauranga in 1983 by Colin Shiska and other owners included Ross Heapey and Rob Cowley both of Riverside Rodders. Our plans are to rebuild the car with new Cragar wheels & tyres supplied by BG Marketing, new paint thanks to House of Kolor and new upholstery. There will be a bit of new chrome on the car as well and our goal is to have the car finished by Labour Weekend. CLICK HERE TO FOLLOW THE PROGRESS

For the Classic Car we wanted to do a 60s style Surf Wagon so have purchased this mint 1963 Buick LeSabre in the USA. It has just 66,000 original miles and spent its life in California with a full record of what has been spent on the wagon over the years. The engine is the original 401cu Nailhead with a Dynoflow automatic transmission. Our plans are ship the wagon to New Zealand thanks to Marcus & Paul at Famous Autos, lower it and again we'll be fitting Cragar wheels, new tyres, Kicker sound system and a nice shiny paint job thanks to House of Kolor. And yes, we'll be fitting a roof rack and hopefully a special Whangamata made long board on top!  CLICK HERE TO FOLLOW THE PROGRESS

We are current'y negotiating a sponsor for a "Bobber" style motorcycle - something like what the Fonz would ride. Watch this space....

The winner drawn from the Festival Programme will be given the choice of what they want from either the Roadster, Surf Wagon or Bike (if we do one). Imagine that choice???? Of the remaining vehciles, one will be auctioned and the other drawn from BH10 car and bike entrants.
